FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ABOUT the drive-in

+ What time does the movie start?

It starts as soon as it's dark enough (which varies with the weather), so we can't give you a firm start time beforehand. But your ticket will tell you the earliest and the latest time you can arrive, to help you plan your evening.

+ How do I hear the movie?

The audio is broadcast via FM Radio. Upon arrival, you will be given the station to tune to.

+ What about food?

You can arrive at the earlier time shown on your ticket and bring a picnic and blanket with you. There is a large, open green space on site so you can be comfortably distanced from other groups while you enjoy your meal.

There will be some packaged snacks and cold drinks that you can purchase onsite (cash only).

You can bring your own snacks.

Please be kind to our volunteers by leaving the area litter-free after you finish eating and drinking.

+ Can I bring wine or beer to enjoy with my picnic?

Sorry, no alcohol.

+ Can I enjoy the screening from my pick-up truck bed, motorcycle, or convertible with the top down? Or, can I bring a lawnchair and sit outside of my vehicle?

Yes! You can enjoy the screening under the stars as long as your car stereo is loud enough to hear from outside your vehicle, or you have a portable FM radio. Note that radio apps often have a delay, which would make it unsuitable for listening to a movie.

+ How do I turn off my car's running lights while I'm using my car to listen to the radio?

All vehicles are different. Please consult YouTube or your vehicle manual to find out how it works for yours before you come. It's important to know how to use Accessory mode, which is much easier on your battery than Auxiliary, and to have your exterior lights off so they don't disturb other guests.

+ What if my battery dies while I'm watching the movie?

Let one of the parking attendants know. We will have someone with booster cables to help you out.

+ How much are tickets?

Tickets are $20 per vehicle. Your ticket entitles you to bring as many guests as your car has seat belts!

+ How many people are allowed in a car?

You can have as many guests in your car as you have seatbelts.

+ What happens if it rains?

HD Outdoor, our screen provider, shows films rain or shine. They only cancel if the weather conditions are extreme. Check our website the day of the event for information.

+ What if I arrive after the “latest arrival” time that's on my ticket?

Sorry, but we cannot let you in and there will be no refund. A late arrival would disrupt the enjoyment of everyone else.

+ Can I leave during the screening?

Sorry, no (unless it’s an actual emergency). There’s just no way to manage an exit during the screening without spoiling the enjoyment of all the other people in attendance.

+ Are Shifting the Narrative screenings family friendly?

The films were not selected with young children in mind. While children are welcome, the films in this series deal with mature themes, and tell stories that are unlikely to appeal to young viewers.
